Temporary changes to the Practice – from Monday 6 April 2020

As you are aware the NHS is currently dealing with the Coronovirus pandemic and in order to help us to help you, the practice needs to make some temporary changes to continue to provide healthcare and advice when you and your family need it most.

From Monday 6 April, you will NOT be able to walk into this practice any longer.

Should you need to speak to your practice, you will need to call the practice 0121 554 1812

If you have a medical problem you will be assessed by a GP/Practice Nurse over the telephone.

If they decide you need to be examined they will make a face to face appointment for you.

The NHS is limiting Face-to-Face consultations due to Covid-19.

It is important that we all do our bit to support the NHS locally as it continues to see and treat you, your family and friends.

University Teaching Practice

The surgery is a Teaching Practice for Birmingham University medical students and physician assistants.

Students may be present during consultations. We will be very grateful if you are prepared to participate but you are under no obligation to do so.

The medical students observe the rules of confidentiality and you will be asked to consent to the student being present. You have the right to refuse.

Please advise reception staff or the doctor if you wish the students to leave the room during your consultation.

We hope you can support the students and doctors of the future.

Training Practice

The surgery is also responsible for GP Registrar training.

These doctors are qualified and have several years of experience but are completing their training to become GPs.

Their consultations may be video recorded. You will be asked to give your permission prior to your consultation if this is the case.

You have the right to refuse.
